Bruno A. Koehler and Hugo W. Ackermann were tried and convicted for violating Section 242 of Title 18 US CA and also for conspiracy to violate that statute. The information upon which their prosecution was based alleges that the defendants entered into a conspiracy for the purpose of depriving one Efram Rasberry of his rights. They were tried and convicted in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. The case went to the Supreme Court of the United States, where the petitioners were represented by Messrs Elbert R Jandt and Ben F Foster. The Solicitor General Perlman, Assistant Attorney General McInerney, and Mr Robert S Erdahl represented the United States. The case was heard on October 15, 1951, and the court delivered its opinion on May 25, 1951.
